More about my medical background:

As a kid, I grew up watching Medical Center and knew from an early age that I wanted to help others as a doctor when I grew up.

After completing undergraduate work at the University of Cincinnati, I earned a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1985 from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago.

I completed my surgical residency at Thorek Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and then established a private practice in Cincinnati, where I have treated patients in southwest Ohio for over 26 years. In 1999, I joined and became a partner with Wellington Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in Cincinnati, where I served on the Executive Committee and as Operations Chairman.

Currently, I am Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons, a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. I also served on the Cincinnati Board of Health and as the Podiatric Surgical Residency Director for Christ Hospital in Cincinnati before entering Congress.

I served a tour in Iraq with the U.S. Army Reserve as a combat surgeon, and I fulfilled my Reserve duties by serving as the Medical Policy Advisor for the Chief of the Army Reserve as well as saw patients at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda. I retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 2022.
